The Near East University was established in 1988, Provides high level education and training services with 438 programs to carry out research-driven activities in a wide range of political, social and geostrategic issues supported by the expertise of the University’s researchers. 220 programs are undergraduate and associate degree programs, and 218 are graduate programs.
The mission of the University is to advance a scientific and dispassionate understanding of all issues that are of relevance to Cyprus and the wider Near East region. The Near East University produces a good number of publications throughout the year – from opinion pieces, policy briefs and research reports to full-length edited volumes – to disseminate its research widely in Cyprus and around the world. The researchers provide “instant analysis” of contemporary, pressing events as well as long-range assessments of specific policy areas and present their findings at prestigious conferences around the globe.
Membership
Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE) the oldest and leading professional body of teacher educators of India was established on 25th Nov, 1950 at MS University of Baroda due to initiatives of eminent educationists like late Prof. T. K. N. Menon, Late Prof. Hansa Ben Mehta and Late Prof. S.N. Mukerjee. It was registered under Societies Registration Act in 1966. IATE has been playing a significant role in providing a platform to teacher educators of India and neighboring countries for meaningful deliberations on various issues related to education system in general and teacher education in specific. It has made ventures in influencing policy decisions in shaping teacher education programme in the country. Organization of annual conferences, national and international seminars and workshops as well as publication of its journal are some of the regular features of IATE. Currently it has a life membership of more than 2,000 covering different regions of the country.
Objectives of the Association are to develop and promote teacher education, to provide a forum for discussion and deliberations on issues and problems related to education in general and teacher education in particular, to conduct workshops, seminars, conferences etc. on teacher education and related areas, to publish journals, monographs and other literatures on teacher education and to cooperate with organizations working in the area of teacher education.
AIAER addresses itself to the problems of research in education focusing on Indian scenario. AIAER addresses itself to the problems of research in education in general but more attention is given to such problems from Indian scenario. Objectives of the Association are to develop and promote educational research, to provide a forum for discussion of problems related to educational research, to conduct workshops, seminars, conferences etc. on educational research, to disseminate findings on educational research, to publish journals, monographs and other types of literature on educational research, to co-operate with organizations engaged in educational research and to carry out all such other activities as may be conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION is a Society having its own constitution. This Society has been founded on 12 November 2010, the day when the members elected Dr. B.K. Passi as the President of the Society. The Objective of GERA is to develop and promote educational research, to provide an international forum for discussion of problems related to educational research to conduct workshops, seminars, conferences etc. to disseminate findings of research to publish journals, monographs and other types of literature on educational research to co-operate with organizations engaged in educational research and to carry out all such other activities as may be conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
Recognising the need and opportunity to professionalize Teacher Education in the country, a group of committed educators headed by Dr. Gulab Chaurasia launched in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) in 1985 a National Professional body-Council for Teacher Education (CTE). Now it has grown throughout the country. The aim of the organization is to strengthen the teacher preparation programmes both at the pre-service and in-service level and to focus on all initiatives and programs remains at enhancing the competence and continuous growth of all teachers and teachers educators not in one dimension but in all three dimensions – As a Professional, Practitioner and Person.
